2020.08.27 06:10 PapaBear12 PapaBear12: #36-40

Date Started: 1/3/20
Film #36 Horrible Bosses Date watched: 3/29 2.5 stars
It goes without saying, but this one had a fantastic cast. Jason Bateman, Charlie Day, and Jason Sudekis all played off each other beautifully. And Jamie Foxx was a phenomenal addition that worked hilariously with the protagonist triumvirate to create some of the film’s funniest moments. The villains in Kevin Spacey, Jennifer Aniston, and Colin Farrell were equally as great and each of them was as funny as their characters were unique. I also felt this film had a good bit of comedy styles blended together. It wasn’t just slapstick. It’s a fun watch for sure.
Film #37 Horrible Bosses 2 Date watched: 3/29 2.5 stars
Despite getting the same rating, I liked Horrible Bosses 2 just a little better than the first. Like with the last one, the lovable trio of Jason Bateman, Charlie Day, and Jason Sudekis worked wonderfully together to great comedic effect. However, the best part of the film had to be Chris Pine, a guy I feel is criminally underrated. He was absolutely hilarious from start to finish. I got some great laughs from every scene he was in. Christoph Waltz also gave the usual Christoph Waltz performance, though it certainly worked well in the film. The story felt organic and was clearly not just a cheap attempt to cash in on the success of the first film.
Film #38 Quo Vadis Date watched: 3/30 2 stars
I really wanted to check out some of the old Hollywood Roman epics on this 100 movie adventure, and decided to start with Quo Vadis, a noted classic. The acting was great for the time, and the story while feeling pretty long was actually quite engaging. I did not find myself bored during the almost 3 hour adventure. But the film was far from flawless. Some things like antiquated gender stereotypes really come to the forefront, and even for a film set in the Roman era, they really fell more “classic Hollywood” then authentic to the time period. I try to judge films for the time they were made, but these issues were just tacky and are really noticeable while watching. And I’m one of those guys who complains about historical inaccuracies, so that was definitely an issue. One thing I did really like is how well they weaved the Christian undertones prevalent in classic Roman films into the story. Not that I was hoping for a religious story, but for once it didn’t feel forced into the narrative. It was really organic and didn’t feel cheap at all, unlike so many other Roman-era movies that really push the religious values. On the whole, though, Quo Vadis really just doesn’t hold up. If you want to see an old epic with some really awesome old school Hollywood sets and costumes, go for it.
Film #39 Pirates of the Caribbean: On Stranger Tides Date watched: 4/1 2 stars
These movies, especially the 2 most recent, get a lot of crap. And while I think a lot of it is justified, On Stranger Tides is far from terrible. Was it as good as the first 3? No. But Penelope Cruz and Ian McShane were welcome additions that added a lot of character to the Pirates universe. The story was passable enough to allow Jack Sparrow another entertaining on screen romp without feeling forced or unnecessary. Was the film great? No, not really. But it was a far cry from the critical response it received. This was one for fans of the series, and I appreciate it for what it is.
Film #40 Die Hard Date watched: 4/20 3 stars
I finally get it. I finally get why everyone’s is always talking about this film and referencing it in other works. It really is an absolute classic, and I loved it from start to finish. I avoided Die Hard for a long time, because I thought it had become kind of a meme. But the truth is, this is just one of those old school action movies that is just every bit of pulpy goodness we have come to love of the era. And Alan Rickman really shined. A lot of actors doing movies like these read into the cheesiness and phone in their performances, but not Alan Rickman. He was really great, taking his role seriously but playing into the important villain traits of the time without making them feel super tropey. I’m sure I’m probably the only one here who hadn’t seen Die Hard before this, but if for some reason you haven’t go check it out.

2020.08.18 13:19 AbigalSmith Friends Reunion is Postponed Again

The Friends reunion has again been delayed indefinitely. It was scheduled to be released around mid-August in the year 2020. But due to the global pandemic coronavirus disease- 2019, the project has been postponed with no fixed date. Sad! Isn’t it? After the series of Friends ended after the 10th season, it was hard to believe we could not have any more new friends episodes. And when the reunion was announced, since then, the fans are waiting for it to release. In this article, we will talk about the previous series, when the reunion will be released, and many more insiders. So let’s start it.
Sources :- Friends Reunion , Norton.com/setup
Friends is an American sitcom television show that started on 22nd September 1994. The show was created by Marta Kauffman and David Crane and starred six fantastic actors Courteney Cox, Lisa Kudrow, Jennifer Aniston, Matthew Perry, Matt LeBlanc, and David Schwimmer. The whole series revolves around six friends in their 20s and 30s. The sitcom series built a strong fanbase of different age groups. When the final episode aired on 6th May 2004, it was watched by 52.5 million American audiences, which made it the most-watched episodic series of the 2000s. Friends were nominated for 62 Primetime Emmy Awards. It also won the award of Outstanding Comedy Series in 2002. It also ranked 24 on the Writers Guild of America’s 101 Best Written TV Series of All Time and ranked 28 on TV Guide’s 60 Best TV Series of All Time.
From this new project Friends reunion, all six of the stars of the show, Jennifer Aniston, Lisa Kudrow, Courteney Cox, David Schwimmer, Matt LeBlanc, and Matthew Perry were set to earn a pretty significant amount of $2.5 million each for the HBO Max special. The project was meant to tape before live viewers on the NBC comedy’s original somewhere in mid-March. However, due to the COVID-19 pandemic situation, the production was halted, pushing the tape to launch on 27th May with HBO Max’s. But now the project has been indefinitely postponed, just revealed by Jennifer Aniston. She played the character of Rachel Green in the show.
The previous series ended after the tenth season in 2004. The story put a satisfying end to the lives of Monica, Chandler, Rachel, and Ross, and also to Phoebe’s stories. But Joey Tribbiani, played by Matt LeBlanc, left dry and high with no happy ending. The audiences want to know, what happened to Ross and Rachel after Friends, are they still together, or is everything okay with Chandler and Monica, and how Chandler is doing with two babies? And any manipulative plot would have been a betrayal of the characters’ arc of the show. Hence, the producer and director turned towards Matt LeBlanc’s Joey Tribbinani character because he had something left in the tank. The character had no happy ending, and he had also grown far less than the other. And watching him succeeding as an actor was a fascinating idea.
When the creators announced the Friends reunion, fans started speculating about the story and the characters’ life they would be going to watch. Questions like would Phoebe and Mike have children? Was Gunther okay about Rachel getting back to Ross? Did anyone remember Ben existed? Those questions were fun, but the answers might not offer satisfaction as it seemed to offer. Audiences had already witnessed that with Joey, the show tried to answer such speculations like Joey’s character could settle down, or could he make his career as an actor. But, things turned out differently, and the show made him a loser. No Friends fans wanted to see their favorite character Joey in such unfamiliar surroundings. However, everyone loved watching Joey’s role in Friends by watching him as the actor in Hollywood was not right. The same could happen with the Friends reunion, there would be a requirement of change in the life of characters after 16 years, and the unfortunate results could be the same.
The new project of Friends reunion is building great anticipation since the first news of the movie came out. And 2020 was the year every fan was waiting to finally know what is happening in the lives of their favorite characters. But when it was finally the time the pandemic spoiled it all. Jennifer Aniston said, “It is unfortunate we had to move the deadline again. It is not a safe time, period, to do this with live audiences. That’s the bottom line. It is not a safe time to do it.” She added, “There’s no denying the delay of the reunion is a huge bummer. But the good news is that it is still happening, it will just take a little longer. This has given the team and us more time to make it even more exciting.” Aniston said she would like to choose to see it as the half-glass full that it got postponed. She said, “Look, we are not going anywhere. And you guys are not going to get rid of Friends. You are stuck with us for life.” At the end of the interview, she concluded by saying, “I just want to get 2020 out and behind us.”
Her interview was a relief, and we do not want Ross, Rachel, Monica, Chandler, Joey, or Phoebe to go anywhere. And also the reunion is still happening, just it is taking some time.

2020.08.17 07:08 ExpressAnnual5 'Friends' Reunion Delayed Again at HBO Max

The Friends reunion special is delayed again at HBO Max.
The one-off special featuring all six original stars was poised to film this month on the show's iconic Warner Bros. soundstage in Burbank, Calif., but has now been pushed to a new, yet-to-be determined date because of the pandemic.
"You're asking me to extrapolate what the conditions in L.A. are going to be in August, and that's a fool's errand," HBO Max head of original content Sarah Aubrey told The Hollywood Reporter in June. Star Lisa Kudrow said in May that the production was eyeing August or September to reunite on the show's iconic orange couch but Southern California continues to be a hotspot for the novel coronavirus. Sources say the cast and HBO Max leadership all want to reunite in person on the former NBC comedy's iconic Stage 24 at the Warner Bros. lot so a virtual reunion is not an option.
"We haven't all been in the same room in front of people — I mean, we have privately once many years ago but that's it. The whole point of this is to be in the same room. That hasn't changed. And HBO Max is being phenomenally patient and understanding," Kudrow told THR.
Officially given a formal green light in February and poised to film in March, HBO Max announced in April that the highly anticipated reunion would miss the streamer's launch, delivering a blow to the subscription streaming platform's debut. Production on the special shut down March 18, joining hundreds of other film and TV shoots across the globe to do so.
"As was previously reported, production is delayed due to the COVID-19 pandemic. This means that the special will not be available on the streamer on Day 1 of launch. But it is coming!" HBO Max said in a statement at the time. "The cast and producers are all very excited to go into production, as this will be the first time since the show ended that the whole cast will be together, and on the original sets to reminisce. There are loads of great surprises in store and lots of rare behind-the-scenes footage they are eager to share. We will keep you informed as plans solidify and once we have a firm premiere date. Lastly, in order to avoid any misunderstanding about what this special is, we want to make it very clear that this is not a new, original episode of the series. The cast will be appearing as themselves, not as their beloved characters. And though fans will have to wait a bit longer for the reunion, they can watch all 236 episodes of the series on day one of HBO Max launch in May!"
Stars Jennifer Aniston, Courteney Cox, Kudrow, Matt LeBlanc, Matthew Perry and David Schwimmer, as well as series creators David Crane and Marta Kauffman, are all set to participate. On Largely all TV and film production — save for animation and voice work —has stopped amid the novel coronavirus pandemic.
As to what filming may look like amid the pandemic, Kudrow said in May that she hoped there will be tests available. "If everyone's tested and clean, then we don't have to be 6 feet apart. Everyone who checks out, so to speak, can sit next to each other on the couch. Because from one end to the other might be 6 feet and one of the two chairs? I thought of that too. But the reunion of the cast and celebration of the show will definitely happen."

2020.08.11 21:17 deathtothemods pretty ugly people

let's talk about good looking people who are fucking ugly... <3

for dudes, a girl with:
- blonde hair,
- blue eyes,
- fat tits and/or non-obese body,
equals "hot girl."

this is because dudes follow what society said was hot, rather than actually seeing or sensing a person's soul or even general appeal.
dudes look at specific features to cross off a list; they evaluate the thing like it's a car that must have certain parts to work as a desirable car. they don't really look at a full package or what it all costs, they don't really know how to extract meaning past the surface level of things, they don't see the microcosms in things, what things all represent, and what it all communicates directly to them.
so, this is like those dudes you see commenting underneath public figures' bikini photos; or dudes who get excitey over celebrities a little too often; or you know, that entire subculture of dudes who went running to google when they were alerted all female celebrity nudes had been leaked and/or posted them here all over reddit, like a bunch of pathetic losers who've never seen tits, or something.

actually, every single girl is a hot girl, so long as she is more or less young.
youth is beauty. that's all. therefore all girls (and dudes) are attractive by nature. everyone's got a pretty looking face, but the face is always communicating something either attractive or hideous that everyone just misses altogether: it's maddening to me. i fucking can't stand the way the masses flock toward and clap at low quality garbage.

you need to be looking at NOT the facial features, but:
a. whether or not they actually complement one another or come together to create an appealing face, and
b. what the fuck that face is GIVING OFF.
mind the truth of a thing, dammit.
every face is talking to you, all the time. watch and listen. you will start to become scared when you realize how ugly all the bitches you worship actually are.

i'm not saying, "personality over beauty!"-- fuck that, we are talking about celebrities here, and we know what the standards are for making so much money and for accumulating so much fame and worship: i am saying that, just on the vapid ass level of evaluating a face to determine its level of attractiveness, you're calling the world's ugliest bitches beautiful, instead, putting them up on a pedestal, and making that the cultural standard for "beauty."
my ex used to do this shit all time, hence the reason i am experiencing the entire culture's shallow stupidity as a trauma: so be it, because whether or not i have a bias, these facts fucking remain. and just to be as objective as possible, i am using actresses as examples who my ex didn't care about at all, but i personally just despise. except jennifer lawrence. that fucker loved that pasty prostitute. just like all of you dense perverts, i'm sure.

.
okay, so let's start with some easy ones: basic bitches who straight up deserve jack shit outside a life of maybe shoveling poop or cleaning garages.
l. reese witherspoon: pretty or ugly? answer: ugly.
yes, skinny blue eyed blonderella, therefore everybody is checking the "pretty" box right about now.
but what if i pointed you in the direction of her chin? located below, nearest her feet?
and what about that shrill squawk of a voice tone; does that not communicate shit to you; do you not see the type A total fucking psycho that is bouncing around in there and now, in your head, tooo?
and finally, what does her face GIVE OFF? when this creature smiles, laughs, or attempts to act, look into her fucking eyes, ONLY, and tell me what comes out. tell me what is crawling beneath the surface of that throwaway (however, totally dolled up) face.
see, when i look at reese withnither, i see why the dudes with boners clap retardedly: blonde, small, etc; but what i see when i look into her eyes is just:
a 14 year old girl who is deformed by abuse and trauma, who will never, ever be able to get enough attention in return to make up for what she lost: to know her is to feel all of her neurotic phobias, insecurities, and desperation; to know her is to know your job is to coddle her to death, and still feel totally useless.
you should see a controlling, foot-stomping, confused little brat: that is what her face shows. that's literally what her face looks like.

  1. jennifer aniston: ugly.
yes, skinny blonde, and everybody who has watched friends can now pick her nipples out of a lineup, etc: okay, got that out of the way- let's move deeper, now. let's actually look at this thing.
look at this face in your mind's eye: long like a horse's, eyes too close together, blank dodobird expression through life, mouth shape is a huge issue, the two-bulb chin- and all the noses in the world that couldn't change these comical proportions.
this is one highly unattractive she-hulk of a big-footed woman.
now, watch her in one interview, and cover the bottom half of that face, and tell me what those eyes are giving off, what they're telling you about this woman. okay, and now, what do you make of that drone of a monotonous voice tone?
what i see coming off that face is only this: a humongously robotic airhead, the world's dullest woman, and a creature in denial of her own loneliness, despite the chronic depression and rejection.
there is no "rachel," alright? that was a culmination of writers over a decade.
you should see a bland, boring, and quite embittered old lady, who is actually a true image-obsessed tyrant. this is her FACE, not just her personality: in fact, it is WHY i know her personality as it sings its own story there on the stage of her face; the sag of her eyes, the strain on that mouth, the burdens of that flat-ironed limp hair always dying to cover 88% of that face.

okay, now let's move on to some of my favorites.
the following are not ugly souls, they are DEAD souls. understand? the creatures below are just skin suits.
l. jennifer lawrence: ugly. dead.
yes, blonde, blue eyed, big titted attention whore: and doesn't everyone just love a pornstar who found a way into hollywood?
take ANY photo of this woman: cover her eyes to look at her mouth: see how FIXED, how AWKWARD, how MEAN that "smile," is? do you, or not?? it's cold, it is alien.
now cover her mouth and look at those eyes: see how NUMB, how DESPERATE, how DECEITFUL, how TRAPPED something used to be inside of there? it died, and it emits a rotting putrescence that oozes out those eyes. see this.
you should be seeing a regular low class ho who abuses as much as she is abused.

  1. emilia clarke: ugly. but you already saw that the second she went back to brown hair, ammiright?
watch this one in interviews, and especially, look at the way she "laughs:" this is a sociopath, understand? this is a sociopath, and what she did to become famous is not only whore herself out, but also devour other humans along the way.
did you miss the pretentiousness? does she come off wholesome, or something? look more closely, look at the bitch's face, and look at what it gives off: this is an average looking woman, who could be beautiful if she had a soul to share, or a mind of her own, or some character to show. yet, she has a pretty terrifying ego regardless of the zero reasons existing.
you should be seeing a frightfully spoiled, fake, and dense high schooler when you look at this total cunt of a phony.

  1. katy perry: ugly. dead.
that face actually is so lovely looking until you feel the emissions.
but this bitch has crazy eyes, and all she has to give off is straight up trauma, is actual torment, and a sadistic need to torment, both physically and emotionally. something is fucked up about this one's face, and it's because of what it GIVES OFF.
you should be seeing a petrified, shocked, turned-to-stone medusa over there in those eyes, and all over that mannequin smile. this girl has the face of a sad but hungry demon. she looks exactly like a victorian porcelain doll stuffed with the vengeful spirit of satan's very first daughter.

i'm someone who believes celebrities are just a series of cloned versions of their own selves (or at least i theorize heavily), and the main reason for that is because of all of this right here: for how hollow these people do come off, it would only make sense that they were clones or like human robots or just brainwashed puppets from childhood or just ancient evils inhabiting human bodies, etc.

others include:
- leo dicaprcicorn: one of the ugliest fucking whores i've ever seen in my life, fuUck; one petty, meean little rich girl, just the ugliest of the 'pretty girls' in hollywood. those squinting, shifty ass eyes say it all. HE started the "give leo an award," parades, and you all acted like YOU started them: but think hard, you guys, do you REALLY care all that MUUUCH whether or not a zillionaire rich white boy who dates models like it's a sport and already owns the world... wins an award...? get your heads out of the clitters!
- cameron diaz: this is a walking drug and sex receptacle; she is basically a pussing, oozing open sore. nobody wears their filth so freely and carelessly as her- crooked ass smile, wider than the joker's, tricky witch nose, and the sleepy yet starved eyes of a true prostitute and addict.
- sarah marshall: all i ever saw there was a cross eyed girl-- but people had like posters of her, etc? lol what, but she looks like a possum- she is literally crossed eyed, a beak for a nose, paper thin lips; she opossumed her way in, weaseled on through some cracks there, and you all let her, all she had to do was play braindead, though! it's fucking insane.
- emma watson: a plain jane is always pretty! but what is the point if she's not even modest or humble? there is no more pretentious little child than this british twit right over here. her eyes only seek their own reflection and the planet's unconditional and endless validation.
- posh spice: or, whatever of her is left hybridized there with the rest of the cyborg parts of a walking stick.
- anne hathaway: um... straight up monster.
- gisele bundschen: an actual witch-hag, and her face looks like nothing but that of a witch hag; at some angles you can plainly see she is a dinosaugodzilla-esque creature pretending to be human. she really disturbs me. and you know, she really disturbs her baseball or cyclist husband, have you looked into his eyes, lately? dude is fucking trapped in a voodoo vortex.

and i won't even talk about people with cosmetic surgery, because that's like a cheap shot. but just... another important point i want to make is that, not only should you be worshiping actual hot girls, but they should also look remotely human. megan fox was a solid choice we all had there, but now she looks like a transformer, and so we lost another good one, and why?
because the masses like you are flocking to all the fake looking, plastic ass bitches, and so what's a hot girl like megan fox or courtney cox to do in a culture where they are being ignored, somehow, replaced by kardashians and other total cyborgs? they obviously started to believe looking uglier would make them look hotter to you all, based on who you all jerk off to; isn't that fucking sad to you? you did this to them! most of them are hideous because of you all in the first place! because of your shitty ass preferences they mindlessly conformed to, as celebrities just dooo0o by nature! man, you gotta help them! elevate your standards and thus elevate theemm!

.
look: hollywood is a place where people are hideously wealthy and immortalized in fame for either:
a. immense, undeniable talent, and/or
b. immense, undeniable beauty or magnetism or physical appeal.

these are the only reasons they get paychecks, right?
don't we deserve better people to just fucking look at, though?
haven't we had enough of all of these ugly ass losers?
can we start learning to add value and appreciation properly to things, again??
even here, on this shallow level of measuring celebrities and their fame??

and here's another matter of great significance, fiends:
is any one person on the planet
worth recycling over and over
for role after role in mainstream films...?
is this a way to keep you emotionally shackled and dependent: yes.
would it open the minds of all humans everywhere to constantly observe, idolize, get to know, and just watch new people in our pretty amazing films: obviously.

the fact that we ALL get off on the SAME people and types of xeroxed versions of such people,
keeps us all ignorant and small-minded and codependent, because
even when we share our likes with other, such as these, in order to grow and know more,
we're exchanging just the same thing, we're making sure there is just one option,
we're further more- mind the macrocosm- stuck with this perception of the whole world that
it is a much smaller place than it is, and so on.

no matter who the person is, even if they are spectacularly out of this world, they don't ever deserve to, like, monopolize every project in hollywood.

this stuff is fucking important, people, goddammit, someone listen to me!
the celebrities represent us-- the culture, the realest of real people, ever:
look at how they reflect us, though...! don't waste your cum on them, c'monn!!
your cum is valuable, friends!! why can't you use it to elevate your society,
why can't you just jerk off to seriously sexy, hot, beautiful ladies--
eyy, just look at monica bellucci, just look at fucking brigitte bardot back in her time- where did our standards go? look at dakota johnson, adriana lima, i don't know, evan rachel wood, and what about mila jovovich in the fifth element-- soooo many beautiful and downright sexy, highest of quality talents and faces to meet and to match; and people are off rummaging the garbage for more nudes of hermione and shit, for crying out loud, it's embarrassing.
all celebrities are trash. none of these psychopaths have a soul. but even among trash, there's a way to distinguish you know like some more valuable chunks from the pools of vomit, etc.

why can't you get off on people who observably just fucking

2020.08.10 01:25 Uninhibitedrmr Laura Leigh's acting

To be honest I didn't like her on the show that much but looking back I feel like we just didn't get to see her point of view. She had just gotten sober so her emotions are probably all over the place, she "dated" Jax and thought it was serious but he lead her on and it was just a rebound then he broke up with her after her NA/AA meeting. Yikes.
I guess she went to Julliard which is highly prestigious for acting. Notably she was on Gossip Girl and had a two episode arc where she was the main focus of the episode. I think she did a good job and I watched those episodes before I watched Vanderpump Rules and thought she fit right in with the cast.
We are the Millers she made a huge deal when describing it to Lisa she basically said she was playing the second main character to Jennifer Aniston. But from what I remember she was only in two scenes equaling about a minute of screen time. The movie was a good movie but I thought from the way she described it to Lisa it was a bigger break than that. Then she was on Jennifer Love-Hewitt's The Client List for the complete first season.
After that I think she was gone for a few years and fell off. I hope her acting picks back up again. Overall I think she is the one to really make it out of everyone in the cast of Vanderpump Rules.

2020.07.26 17:57 Spaceturtlerealness Does anyone else struggle figuring out if you hate how you look because you’re trans or because you’re fat?

(I don’t mind calling myself fat because that’s my reality but if you struggle with your body image, continue reading with caution and know that the way I describe myself is not how I view other people at my size, it really isn’t.)
I’ve struggled with my weight most of my life but the first time I understood that this was a problem I was eleven. I was on a check up with the school nurse and as I stepped of the scale she told me I was overweight and would have to come back on an extra check up. That check up never happened but every time she entered the classroom to get one of the other two overweight kids for a check up (which is messed up) I would squeeze my body between my chair and my desk so I wouldn’t look fat. Ever since then I have seen myself as fat, no matter what weight I’m at. I’m now 22 and bigger than I’ve ever been before and looking back at photos of myself as a teenager I realise I wasn’t as big as I thought I was, only very mildly overweight but thought I looked like, well, what I look like now. I can now see that I had lost weight or at least grown into it. I thought I couldn’t even try out a short haircut unless a lost weight, then I gained weight. So great.
So dysphoria. I first started experiencing bodily gender dysphoria when I hit puberty. I didn’t wanna acknowledge even to myself that I had gotten my period or that my chest was growing. And I know some cis girls felt this way during puberty too but I was dreading puberty even before I got there myself, even before I really knew what puberty would be like. Actually, I used toilet paper instead of pads or tampons for a year before my mom figured out I’d gotten my period. I don’t know if I thought she would never find out but at least I was determined and that counts for something. I've never liked my chest or my hips and I'm afraid I'll always have my big hips.
Through my early teen years I mainly dressed in band t-shirts, black jeans and hoodies. My hair was long and unkempt and I wore no makeup. I also refused to wear a bra so I’d wear a relatively tight tank top underneath my t-shirts. I thought my chest was huge even though I was an A-cup, and still, even as I’ve gained a lot of weight I’m only at a larger b-cup right now. Correct me if I’m wrong, but cis girls don’t mistake their chests for being bigger than they are and see that as a negative thing. Around 16 I started wearing more and more feminine clothes and at 17 I was wearing skirts and winged eyeliner almost every day. I thought that all those years of refusing femininity I just didn’t feel pretty enough to present in a feminine way, because that’s what my family seemed to think. My ”friends” would tell me I would actually look really cute if I just wore some mascara and when I did start wearing makeup I was told I was pretty. No one ever pressured me to be masculine, they pressured me to be feminine.
Sometimes I’ll look at a conventionally attractive woman and think ”maybe I’m just insecure about how I look, I should just try to emulate her look and then I’ll be happy.” First I tried emulating Jennifer Aniston’s look during friends, then I switched to Zooey Deschanel on new girl and amped up the hyper femininity even more and wore skater dresses and curled my hair. I had crushes on guys but when I tried to fantasise about dating them I felt uncomfortable imagining myself as a girl. I liked guys (and maybe girls, I’m not sure about that one) but I didn’t want them to be attracted to me, at least not when I looked like that. Eventually I started alternating between my old look (but slightly updated) and the hyper feminine look. I still think like that some days, that maybe if I were a prettier I’d be okay with being a woman but now that I’m aware of what dysphoria is and have acknowledged, at least to myself, that I’m likely trans, I recognise what I’m doing and know that’s probably not how I feel. Today is one of those days and that’s why I’m writing this. Sometimes I wish, only slightly, that I could be happy as a cis woman because that would be so much easier than having to wait to get a therapist who can give me a referral, then wait at least 6 months to get a meeting at a gender clinic then wait maybe a year or more to be able to get hormones because fuck Swedish trans care and their gate keeping bullshit. And I don’t even want to think about coming out because I even though I’m pretty sure my family wouldn’t disown me, they’ll probably be very uncomfortable.

2020.07.10 03:47 fruitynoodles The pit bull lobby and its satanic cult origins

This submission statement is based off this Youtube video and my own research.
TLDR:

The pit bull lobby was born out of one woman’s inheritance. Her name is Jane Berkey and she’s the founder of a non-profit called Animal Farm Foundation (AFF), which is dedicated to fighting regulations on pit bulls.
Berkey ran a publishing house earlier in her career and was dating a porn producer named Shaun Costello during this time. She helped produce his films, while he helped recruit girls to join her organization and advocate for pit bulls. There are allegations that Costello produced snuff porn…which will make more sense as you read on.
In 2007, AFF bought a private research body (The National Canine Research Council, NCRC) to help produce studies in favor of pit bulls. Berkey is literally paying people to create studies that favor pit bulls and help her organization. The NCRC also takes part in lobbying, thanks to the funds from AFF/Berkey, of course.
Today, Berkey’s goons have gotten platforms to speak on major media, advocating for pit bulls and telling blatant lies. Her organization has also gotten celebrities like Kaley Cuoco, Jennifer Aniston, Tom Brady, etc. to speak out as pit bull advocates.
The pit bull industry is now enormous, with non-profits receiving huge amounts of funding. From the very top, like Jane Berkey, to the directors of animal shelters, they are all conspiring and profiting of pit bulls.
Recently, the director of the Connecticut Humane Society, Annie Hornish, was involved in a fatal mauling when her pit bull, Dexter, mauled her elderly mother's friend to death. Hornish, who also worked as a Democratic congresswoman, is a super outspoken pit bull advocate, even after her dog attacked and killed the 90+ year old lady. She blamed the deceased woman on the attack and is now putting up a huge legal fight (using her political connections) to prevent her pit bull from being put down. This happened last year and the dog is still alive, because Hornish believes it is owed "due process."
Back to the snuff film part....so Jane Berkey's organization AFF shares many of the same board members and execs as a non-profit called Best Friends Animal Society. The origins of this non-profit are based off the Best Friends cult in the 1960s, which was also called The Process Church and the Church of the Final Judgment. They were an off-shoot of scientology and they used similar methods to gain and retain members, like collecting personal info and using it as blackmail. The cult would guard their properties with vicious dogs and they believed that dogs are more pure than humans. They would also go to soup kitchens to recruit vulnerable people for their cult (similar to Berkey's porn producer boyfriend recruiting girls for her non-profit).
This cult was accused of child and animal abuse. They were known for providing animals for satanic rituals. They('d) worship animals, including a large cat statue. Despite worshiping animals, they contributed to dog-fighting in the UK and US. Over the years, the non-profit had connections with the Mansons and other nefarious characters. Eventually, it turned into the non-profit you see today, which is, unsurprisingly, extremely well-funded and politically connected.
There is a lot of money in dog-fighting, in rescue organizations, in non-profits, and in the pit bull lobby. Jane Berkey seized this opportunity decades ago and has been using her wealth and connections to further her agenda of putting pit bulls above all other animals and even humans.
So, I know this ends abruptly. This is the tip of the iceberg. I first discovered this rabbit hole when I witnessed a pit-on-dog attack in San Francisco. I always thought they were just another breed, but I began reading and researching laws, fatalities, maulings, bites, and started realizing there was more going on than meets the eye. This video unlocked the rest of my suspicions. It's very bizarre, but very interesting to read about. I'd really like to learn more about this cult and the transformation from satanic, murderous cult to benevolent "we love animals" society.
If anyone knows more about this, please share. I'll update this thread as I discover more information.

2020.06.13 10:52 ElCharmann My arbitrary ranking of each the friends by season

Like a lot of people, I thought it would be fun to binge friends this quarantine. And I thought of doing a character ranking. However since my opinion on the characters fluctuates a lot from season to season, I will divide it up. (Order is from least favorite to most favorite)
Season 1: Rachel < Ross < Joey < Phoebe < Monica and Chandler (tied)
Rachel is barely a character in season 1, especially in the Paolo episodes that only serve to make Ross jealous. Ross is a little too depressing to be fun to watch and is too “nice guy” here; plus I never liked Marcel. Joey is just barely below Phoebe the stuff with David and the one where Joey dates Ursula really pushes her over Joey. I also think they would have made for a better “will they won’t they” than Ross/Rachel or Monica/Chandler. Speaking of which, Monica and Chandler are the best part of this season, but for very different reasons. Chandler is the most more fun to watch, but Monica is more well rounded; she really does feel like the glue that holds the group together.
Season 2: Rachel and Ross (tied) < Phoebe < Joey < Chandler < Monica
I think this is Rachel weakest season, Ross is pretty bad too. From the whole deal with Julie to the fake conflict of the list that Ross makes, their relationship is a drag to watch, however I will say that when they finally get together, it’s the best episode of the show. Phoebe is inconsistent here, shes very good but she’s also a little too weird to be relatable. Joey improves this season, but I don’t really like the little drama with him moving out. That also weighs down Chandler a little bit, but he’s still the funniest of all six. However Monica and Richard’s storyline is my favorite of the whole show (even if it’s a little creepy) and I enjoyed it way too much to not allow Monica to win season 2.
Season 3 Ross < Monica < Rachel < Phoebe < Joey < Chandler
Ross is an asshole this season. From forbidding Ben to play with Barbies, yelling at everyone for not being ready on time or the whole “on a break” debacle. Were it not for season 9, this would be his weakest season. Monica is next simply because shes not very memorable this season and because his relationship with Pete is a very stupid plot line IMO. Rachel starts becoming great this season; she becomes a very fun character and would be higher if her story wasn’t as link with Ross’s. Phoebe is fun, shes still un relatable to me and a little too eccentric, but she’s fun. Joey and Chandler are amazing this season. I think their characters in these earlier seasons are one of the things I enjoy the most, however I have to give the edge to Chandler because Janice really adds depth to his character.
Season 4 Phoebe < Ross and Monica (tied)< Rachel < Joey and Chandler (tied)
This season they pushed Phoebe over the line IMO. The episode where she thinks her mom is a cat is one of my least favorites and having her be pregnant for his brother’s babies is just too weird of a storyline for me. I do enjoy her part in the London story though. Ross is better this season and he performs considerably better in the first half of the season, when he’s not the focus of the show. Him playing keyboards is really fun, I just wish his story with Emily had been handled better. Monica is also good this season, the whole living on the guys apartment thing is cute, but she really feels a little one note at this point (we get it, she’s clean and she wants to get married). Rachel is great this season. I feel like her chemistry with Chandler is super underrated and one of the best parts of this season. Its the only male/female friendship in the show that feels real and its a shame that they barely even speak in later seasons. Joey and Chandler are still the best. Them liking the same girl is a really compelling story, plus they’re as fun as always. It’s a shame its all downhill from here for Chandler.
Season 5 Everyone (tied) < Ross
This is my favorite season. Everyone is great here, Monica and Chandler relationship is fun. Phoebe is great, especially in the one where she tries to seduce Chandler, Rachel is really great in the Vegas episode and Joey is really funny in the best thanksgiving episode. However, this is season belongs to Ross. From sympathetic to completely insane, Ross had me rolling with his rage issues. I think this is when David Schwimmer really started leaning into the crazy side of Ross that always made him so fun to watch.
Season 6 Joey < Monica and Chandler (tied) < Rachel and Phoebe (tied) < Ross
This is probably Joey’s weakest season. He’s not bad, its fun to see him as a struggling actor, but the whole falling in love with his roommate is very weak. Monica and Chandler are cute, I just wish they had more to their characters after getting together, also I don’t like the Richard part of their story, feels like fabricated conflict and Chandler’s insecurity is getting annoying. In contrast, Rachel and Phoebe are great here. I like them living together, they have great chemistry and are both at a very good place character wise. Ross is still the best here. I don’t know what changed really, because he’s still quite an asshole this season, but the way he’s played its almost like a Seinfeld character: a lovable bad person whom you want to see get whats coming to him (and he always does).
Season 7 Chandler < Monica < Phoebe < Joey < Ross < Rachel
Chandler changes a lot after getting with Monica, but this season is when his character starts to feel dependent on Monica, something that only happens with this pairing. Also, Chandler’s dad is the single most dated thing about Friends. I hate how its handled. Monica starts extremely unlikeable from episode 1, she later gets better but its tedious that almost all of her stories are wedding related. Her standout episode is the one where she is making foreskins for Joey. Phoebe is starting to feel directionless again at this point, but her developing relationship with Joey snd Rachel is really compelling. Joey breaking out and becoming “ famous” is fun to watch and really cathartic after seeing him struggle for so long. Ross continues being insane, however he also starts to develop a friendship with Rachel that is very endearing. IMO Ross and Rachel’s relationship post breakup was at it’s best here. Rachel takes the show this season. I like her with Tag, I like her with Phoebe, I like her with Joey, with The amalgam that is Chandleronica and I like him with Ross. She has great chemistry with everybody.
Season 8 Chandler < Monica < Phoebe < Ross < Rachel < Joey
Chandler and Monica are again at the bottom, but Chandler is last because there is something really weird about how Matthew Perry plays him this season that feels uncanny. He speaks slower and has a weird timing in his humor. Monica is better, but just barely. She has been flanderized for quite a while now, so her stories can get pretty tedious. Phoebe is continuing her loss of direction, the writers don’t know what to do with her and you can tell. The whacky story about dating Ursulas fiancé is not good. Ross’s craziness is still fun, but they give him more plot to carry this season, so he doesn’t get many explosive chances. I like Mona too, I wish she could have gotten reintroduced later. This is a very Rachel centric season, and she delivers. I like how she’s played by Jennifer Aniston, it’s fun to see her pregnant; plus she maintains great chemistry with everyone (except Chandler, somehow she’s not allowed to speak with him anymore). I don’t know how controversial this might be, but I like Joey falling for Rachel. Its cute in a platonic way and should have served as a platform to develop Joey into a more mature character. Without a doubt, Joey’s best season.
Season 9 Ross < Joey < Rachel < Monica < Chandler < Phoebe
This is my least favorite season it’s when it really stops feeling like “friends hanging out” and starts feeling more like “family hanging out” since everyone but Phoebe and Joey are family at this point. It’s also Ross’s worst season. I feel like when everyone talks about how much they hate Ross they’re thinking about something he did in this season. The one where he fires the nanny for being a man is the worst episode in the series IMO. He turns full asshole here. Joey is next simply because of how stupid they made him and the refusal of the writers to develop his character beyond “manchild that eats and fucks a lot” is a terrible decision that messes his character up from this point to the end of the series. Also Charlie is the worst romantic interest in the whole series. Rachel isn’t great here, having her falling for Joey this season doesn’t make much sense considering how undeveloped he is compared to her. I actually think it could have worked, if it had been handled differently, but its really no surprise that it’s the single most hated storyline of the series. Monica is actually ok this time around and her story of wanting to have a baby with Chandler is cute. Chandler gets quite a good story this time around, moving him to Tulsa for the first half of the season was a very good idea, and having him finally quit his job is one of the only two reslly good things that happened this season. The other really good thing is Phoebe, this is her best season. Mike is a great addition and reintroducing David was also great. I’m less positive about expanding her quirkiness to the “living on the street” backstory, but everything else about her works really nice.
Season 10
Joey < Ross < Monica and Chandler (tied) < Phoebe < Rachel
This is my second to last favorite season. I think it’s overall weaker than 9 really, so instead of judging them for how they were on the season, I’ll rank them based on how I liked their ending overall. Joey is so underdeveloped by the end of this show, its not even funny. Ross is saved by his role in the finale, even though he’s as unlikeable as he was on season 9. Chandler and Monica get a nice happy ending, I prefer Chandler this season but they’re still basically one character. Phoebe’s wedding is s highlight of the season and I like that at least one of the Friends ended up with someone that wasn’t from the group. As directionless as she felt for most of the series, she has a good ending to her character story. Rachel is the best. She’s so good this season fans still debate wether or not Ross deserved her in the end.
Thoughts?

2020.06.04 17:08 ChildfreeFamily Help fact-checking a list of well known Childfree people

I'm compiling a list of childfree people for a blog. I have found a few lists online (which have been helpful). But in some cases they were not up-to-date. A person may have had children since being added to their list (example: I had to remove George Clooney who appeared on a number of lists). Or there might be some people missing who should be on the list.
If you have a moment to scan the list and let me know of any other errors or omissions it would be appreciated.
It has been fun working on this list. A few people on it surprised me. Thanks again for any help.
\Edit for clarification: the term "childfree", in the sense of this list, will be in regards to people who never had a child from a live birth, fostered a child, adopted a child, or was a step-parent.*

2020.05.31 01:23 tonnie_taller What Adam Sandler’s Next Netflix Movie Is Screen Rant

Read more on WordPress https://ift.tt/2TWj4ls
Since 2015, Adam Sandler has starred in one Netflix movie per year, so fans are naturally curious about his next collaboration with the streaming service. Sandler produced the 2020 comedy The Wrong Missy via his company Happy Madison Productions, but doesn’t actually appear on camera alongside his wife Jackie, their two daughters, and even his nephew, Jared. Later this year, though, “the Sandman” will return to Netflix with a starring role in Hubie Halloween.
Even though Sandler’s Netflix films typically aren’t universally beloved by critics, they’re ideal for streamers who want some accessible popcorn entertainment. In recent years, Happy Madison Productions has upped their game, evidenced by well-received releases such as 100% Fresh(a Sandler comedy special), Murder Mystery(starring Sandler and Jennifer Aniston), and the aforementioned _The Wrong Missy,_ a comedy featuring David Spade and Lauren Lapkus.
Related: Happy Gilmore 2 Updates: Will Adam Sandler Make A Sequel?
Hubie Halloween_doesn’t have an official release date yet, but will be available to stream later in 2020, presumably in October. Directed by Happy Madison regular Steven Brill, the holiday comedy follows community volunteer Hubie Dubois as he investigates a murder mystery in Salem, Massachusetts. _Hubie Halloween_features several of Sandler’s _Saturday Night Live_pals, including Spade, Tim Meadows, Rob Schneider, Maya Rudolph, and Colin Quinn, along with current cast members Kenan Thompson and Mikey Day. _Hubie Halloween_co-stars Kevin James, who previously appeared in the Happy Madison films _Grown Ups, Pixels, and Sandy Wexler. James is best known for starring opposite Leah Remini in The King of Queens.
Sandler co-wrote Hubie Halloween_with long-time collaborator Tim Herlihy, a former _Saturday Night Live_writer. In fact, Herlihy wrote the early ’90s comedy films _Billy Madison_and _Happy Gilmore, along with the late ’90s mainstream hits The Wedding Singer_and _Big Daddy. However, it’s been five years since Herlihy’s latest Happy Madison release, The Ridiculous 6, which remains infamous for having a zero percent Tomatometer score at Rotten Tomatoes (the audience score is much higher at 33 percent).
_Hubie Halloween_will undoubtedly align with the comedic template for past Happy Madison films. For a primer, the classic _Saturday Night Live_segment _“The Herlihy Boy”_may be a good place to start, as the recurring bit (featuring Sandler and Chris Farley) was based on none other than Herlihy. In general, a Herlihy-Sandler collaboration usually involves an angsty and aggressive lead character with a unique speaking voice. And so _Hubie Halloween’s_Hubie Dubois will most likely become yet another classic Sandler character, certainly if the film turns out to be more than just OK.
Adam Sandler and Netflix extended their production deal in January 2020. A Murder Mystery sequel is currently in development.

2020.05.10 17:16 another30yovirgin Sometimes I wish I were an artist

You know, I really love the band Counting Crows, except really only their first two albums. It's amazing to me how Adam Duritz has managed to make a career out of the intensity of his depression. And obviously it's depression in the truest sense--there's no good reason for him to be unhappy with his life. You know, normally with depression, it's a stew of chemical imbalance and genuine bad shit happening to you and they have to be separated. Adam Duritz is rich and dated Jennifer Aniston. So yeah.
I just wish there were some usefulness to all of the shit, you know? Like maybe I never get to actually have sex or whatever, but at least I made some amazing painting that drew on that loss. Something should be better because I suffered. Not just this thing where I suffer and nobody really notices and people think it's sort of weird that they never remember me introducing them to a woman I'm dating, but oh well. I feel all the pain and it just stays in me. Occasionally I talk to other people about it, and it becomes a burden for them. It's just too bad that it can't be music that makes other people feel good or something like that.

So ROH has started a weekly podcast called ROHStrong with Kevin Eck (ROH website guy and former WWE creative guy. First guest is Marty Scurll. If you go here it's on their website so you can listen for yourself. It's an easy listen and there are only two adverts, plus Matry's a pretty fun guest. I said I'd jot down the main points discussed for anyone who wants to know what was discussed. Do remember that it's difficult to give full context on what is said but I tried to give as much info on the points as possible.
That's it. Kevin says there'll be a new episode every week and to stay tuned to social media for who the next guest will be.

2020.04.12 16:05 VedantBorle HBO Max to Launch Without ‘Friends’ Reunion Special

The coronavirus pandemic has changed the production game throughout the world. With theatres shutting down and people kept in lockdown, things seem pretty grim. To add to this grim reality, Friends, the famous 90s sitcom, will not be premiering with HBO Max WarnerMedia had announced with much fanfare about the reunion, which made fans all over the internet celebrate the return of the infamous group that had been their companions in more ways than one. However, with production to a standstill, that seems to be a distant dream. WarnerMedia have now announced that the unscripted Friends reunion will not be available when the platform launches – a date which will be determined in May.
Some shows have recently started to record their episodes via Zoom and other telecommunication software. However, like most other TV series and films, production shut down on March 18. HBO Max said in a statement, “We want to share some background information about the production dates for the upcoming unscripted Friends reunion special for HBO Max. As was previously reported, production is delayed due to the COVID-19 pandemic. This means that the special will not be available on the streamer on Day 1 of launch. But it is coming! The cast and producers are all very excited to go into production, as this will be the first time since the show ended that the whole cast will be together, and on the original sets to reminisce. And though fans will have to wait a bit longer for the reunion, they can watch all 236 episodes of the series on day one of HBO Max launch in May!”
For the streaming rights of Friends, WarnerMedia had reportedly paid over $400 million in a bidding war with Netflix.
The Friends reunion is the kind of content that provides a push to services like HBO Max, to kickstart it in a highly competitive market. Disney had done the same during the launch of Disney+ last year. Similarly, Apple used the Jennifer Aniston and Reese Witherspoon drama The Morning Show to its advantage during the launch of Apple TV+.

2020.03.20 04:08 summerspring_ He's just not that into you - Movie

Hi ladies- just watched this movie for the first time as I saw its recommended!
I know this is a movie but I am still confused on a few things, please enlighten me:
I feel bad for Beth (Jennifer Aniston) but did she really go back to Neil and say it's okay to not get married (when we all know she really wanted that)? I mean thank God he woke up but questionable..?
I feel like Gigi (Ginnifer) likes every guy she dates and hopes they like her back. It seems like she needs validation, or idk, something is off. Like she wants a guy to feel loved and accepted. Does she even really like Alex? It seemed like her interest only began when she realized he was into her.
So happy Janine stood up for herself finally!! At first I felt heartbroken for her was like nooo dont stay he sucks. And same with Anna. Her heart got broken But I didnt feel bad for her because I thought she was a bitch. If a man is taken, leave him alone.
Pointless side note: it's funny how they all were connected somehow but never found out.

2020.03.11 16:53 rickysususu How I choose my date

So I went on a date with a girl that I met from sweetring. (it’s for serious relationship) It was our first time meeting IRL and we met at a steakhouse. Everything was fine and our conversations were flowing smoothly. Until she asked me what kind of girls do I like. So I explained to her.
I am attracted to girls who are a 5, a 6 and a 7. This girl scores a 5 without makeup, a 7 with makeup but prefers to be a 6 just in general. I wouldn’t even try to ask a girl out if she scores above 7, not because I lack self-confidence, I’m just physically not attracted to them.
For example, in my mind, Selena Gomez, Ariana Grande, Emma Watson, Jennifer Aniston they are all above 8 if not 10, would I ask them out if they are single and are close friends to me? Nope, I will not because I know dating them is only going to make my life more complicated. Not that I’m saying they would date me, of course they wouldn’t but I’m just saying, I just wouldn’t ask them out if they are just like normal people.
I wouldn’t date these girls but rather I’d see them as art. I wouldn’t touch them but I’d enjoy watching them (not in a creepy way) because they are just beautiful human beings. After all these really thorough explanations, she asked me “So basically I am like a 5 to you? Why tf am I a 5?”
I said “uh, technically you are not a 5 because you are wearing makeup... ” Couldn’t even finish the sentence because she got pretty mad.
Lesson learned, never ever going to explain this logic to any of the girls. If they ask you the same question, don’t think just lie! “A 10, like you tonight”
But how do you guys think about this rating system?

2020.03.11 08:00 kittehgoesmeow What A Day: Hotel In A Handbasket by Sarah Lazarus & Crooked Media (03/10/20)

"I don't think it's a big deal." - Noted germaphobe Donald Trump, on why he hasn't been tested

Thumbs On The Shale

President Trump’s initial response to the economic fallout from coronavirus has been to offer taxpayer-funded assistance to various industries, some in which he and his friends have financial stakes. Though to be fair, when we first learned that COVID-19 had reached our shores, who among us did not close our eyes and pray for the resort and shale industries?
And just in case racist nomenclature doesn’t do the trick, there’s always a cover-up.
Trump’s sociopathic prioritization of a healthy(-looking) stock market over a healthy American public led the administration to downplay the coronavirus when it should have been working to contain it. He’s brought those same warped priorities into the mitigation phase, and it’s now up to Congress to override them.

Look No Further Than The Crooked Media

Out of an abundance of caution for our audience, we will be cancelling the upcoming Pod Save America and Lovett or Leave It March tour dates in San Diego, Phoenix, and Seattle, due to the developing health risks posed by the coronavirus (COVID-19). We were looking forward to being in your city and hope to reschedule at a later date, when we can ensure the health and safety of our audience. Full refunds will be available at the point of purchase. Ticket holders will receive an email on Wednesday with further instructions.
Shows not scheduled in March will still move ahead as planned. We'll keep you posted if anything changes.

Under The Radar

Both Joe Biden and Bernie Sanders have canceled their campaign rallies in Cleveland this evening, making them the first political events to be canceled due to coronavirus. Sanders is counting on a big victory tonight to reverse the sense of inevitability around Biden’s candidacy—the next round of primaries on March 17 are firmly in Biden’s wheelhouse. He’ll need to pull off a surprise: According to the polls, Biden is poised to comfortably win Missouri, Mississippi, and Michigan. Sanders has polled better in Washington, Idaho, and North Dakota, but those states have fewer delegates, and polls in those states have been tightening.
Michigan is the big one to watch, and the results might not be available until Wednesday. Biden had an eventful day there, getting into a heated exchange with a Detroit factory worker over gun policy, telling the man “you’re full of shit” when he accused Biden of trying to take away Second Amendment rights. Additionally, Michael Taylor, a Republican Michigan mayor announced that he voted for Biden in the Michigan primary (where voters needn’t register for parties), after voting for Trump in 2016. He thinks many white moderate Republicans in the state will do the same.

What Else?

Russia has stepped up its efforts to interfere in the election by trying to inflame racial tensions and incite violence by white supremacist groups. What a wonderful time to have Richard Grenell overseeing the entire intelligence community! Today, he declined to brief Congress on foreign election threats, because he was unprepared and probably afraid to make Trump mad.
A three-judge, federal appeals-court panel has ruled that the Justice Department must release secret grand jury evidence from the Mueller investigation to congressional Democrats. Trump can appeal, so it’s not likely to be the final word on the matter, but one of the judges who ruled in the House’s favor is a conservative hardliner, so his outlook isn’t good.
Michael Bloomberg laid off campaign staff he had promised would have job security through the general election, even if he dropped out. Campaign staff had to tell this to reporters anonymously, because of their nondisclosure agreements.
Vladimir Putin has backed an amendment to the Russian constitution that would allow him to remain in power until 2036. The Russian public will have to vote on the referendum next month, so Putin has proposed some socially conservative measures, like a ban on same-sex marriage, to boost turnout.
The State Department wants to designate at least one violent white supremacist group as a foreign terrorist organization. That could pose a sticky situation from Trump, who, in greenlighting the designation, would have to implicitly admit that there are not, in fact, “very fine people on both sides.”
Harvey Weinstein reached out to billionaire pals Jeff Bezos and Michael Bloomberg for help after news of his systematic predation became public. Newly unsealed court documents reveal that Weinstein emailed almost two dozen powerful people in a bid to save himself. In one email to his representative, Weinstein suggested that Jennifer Anniston should be killed.
A Florida woman was charged with submitting false voter registration information, having enrolled Democratic and Independent voters as Republicans without their consent. Cheryl Hall worked for a Florida First, a voter registration group heavily funded by a pro-Trump organization.
Some maniacs are still planning cruises and it is fascinating to behold. “I’m just popping Xanax every hour. I haven’t begun snorting them yet. Once I start snorting it, then you know I'm nervous.” God bless America, baby.

Be Smarter

Hundreds of bills have died in the Oregon legislature because Republicans ran away to block a vote on climate legislation. For the [fifth time in ten months, Oregon Republicans have refused to show up for work rather than allow legislation to come to a vote—this time, a bill that would put a price on greenhouse gas emissions and invest funds to transition away from fossil fuels—because they know it would pass if it did. Democrats have supermajorities in both houses, so Republicans have taken to using the state’s quorum requirement to see that nothing gets done at all. As a result of their latest temper tantrum, the Oregon legislature passed a total of three bills during the session that ended on Sunday, which cost taxpayers a half-million dollars.

Is That Hope I Feel?

The Texas Democratic Party has announced that it will launch the largest voter registration campaign in its history. Texas Democrats say they’ve identified nearly 2.6 million people in the state who would vote Democratic if they were registered, and will use funding from the DNC to build a team of organizers to reach them. The organizers will focus on registering minority voters in suburban and rural areas. This is the earliest in an election cycle that Texas Democrats have begun voter outreach, made possible by the DNC designating Texas a 2020 battleground state.

Enjoy
